Privacy
The short version: your answers never leave your device. Every test is scored in your browser. There is no account, no tracking of what you pick, and nothing about your results is sent to us or to anyone else.

What stays on your device
Tests are scored entirely by JavaScript running in your browser. The pages that run tests makeno network requests at all — nothing is transmitted while you answer, and nothing is transmitted when you see your result.
Three things are saved in your browser's local storage, and only there:
pt-theme— whether you chose light or dark.pt-notice— whether you dismissed the notice bar.pt-progress-<test>— your in-progress answers, so reloading part-way through a long test doesn't lose them. It's removed when you finish.
We can't read any of it. Clearing your browser data removes it, and using private/incognito browsing means it disappears when you close the window.
We use no cookies. None, of any kind, including analytics or advertising cookies.
What we do collect
Being precise, because "we collect nothing" wouldn't be true:
- Your email address, if you give it to us. If you join the app launch list, or email us about a partnership or directory listing, we hold that address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and, for the launch list, to tell you when the app is out. Nothing else. We never sell it or pass it on.
- Standard server logs. Our host and CDN, Cloudflare, processes requests to the site and records technical information including IP addresses. That's a normal part of serving a website and protecting it from attack. We don't combine it with anything else.
- Aggregate visitor numbers. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-less and doesn't fingerprint or track people between sites. It tells us how many people visited a page — never who, and never anything about your answers.
Legal basis
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on consent for the launch list (you asked to be told; you can leave whenever you like) and legitimate interests for replying to enquiries, keeping the site running and keeping it secure.
How long we keep things
Launch-list addresses until you unsubscribe or the launch is done. Enquiry emails for as long as needed to deal with them, and a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Server logs are kept for a short period by Cloudflare under their own retention policy.
Where your data goes
The site is served by Cloudflare, whose network is global — so a request may be handled by a server outside your country. Because we store almost nothing, there is very little to transfer. Email we receive is held by our email provider.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. If you're in the UK or EU these rights come from the UK GDPR and GDPR; California residents have comparable rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We never sell personal information.
To exercise any of this, email privacy@personalitylibrary.com. In practice, for most visitors we hold nothing at all — if you've never emailed us, there's nothing for us to look up.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to your data protection regulator. In the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
This site isn't aimed at children. Some tests — the mental-health screeners in particular — deal with adult subject matter and aren't suitable for under-16s without a parent or guardian. Please don't send us your email address if you're under 16.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant — for example, if we ever started recording anonymous, aggregate result counts — we'd say so here plainly rather than quietly widening the wording.
