SEI · The Mediator & LSE · The Administrator Compatibility
This one is asymmetric, which is what makes it hard. LSE (The Administrator)'s leading element lands squarely on SEI (The Mediator)'s vulnerable function, so LSE sees SEI's weak spot constantly and effortlessly — usually without meaning to. Meanwhile SEI's best work bounces off LSE unnoticed. SEI keeps trying to earn LSE's regard; LSE isn't withholding it and often has no idea any of this is happening.
Where you click
- SEI does learn from LSE — the pressure is real and sometimes useful.
- LSE often genuinely likes SEI, and can’t see the problem.
- In short bursts or a clear teaching role, this can work.
Where you clash
- LSE keeps landing on the one thing SEI cannot do, without noticing.
- SEI’s strongest suit simply doesn’t register with LSE.
- SEI can’t win the exchange by trying harder — trying harder is the trap.
- It doesn’t balance out over time; the asymmetry is the relation.
The relation
Socionics names this Supervision. It isn’t a rating of the two people — it falls out of where each type’s elements sit in the other’s Model A, and it would say the same about any SEI/LSE pair.
Quadras
SEI is Alpha, LSE is Delta. Different quadras want different things from a room, so even where you get on, the ambient values need translating.
Where the pressure lands
SEI’s vulnerable element is Te; LSE’s is Ni. Those are the two sore spots — in Socionics almost every hard relation is really a story about one person’s strongest element sitting on the other’s weakest.
A note on gender
This relation is asymmetric. It reads differently depending which side you’re standing on — LSE and SEI are not having the same experience, and that’s the whole point of it.

A popular lens, not a science: Socionics compatibility is indicative and for insight. Any two well-meaning people of any types can build a great relationship — type just names some of the tailwinds and headwinds.
